Slight abduction of the legs is necessary for the follow-up treatment of type IIb hip dysplasia according to Graf or residual dysplasia after the conservative treatment of hip dislocations. This Hip Abduction Orthosis was developed for children aged 6–18 months in order to limit their activity as little as possible. The position of the femoral head attained in this manner improves the development of the acetabular roof.
